The 4th time I prompted ChatGPT to create a caricature of me was a charm.

It’s currently the trend of the day. Everyone is posting these AI caricatures on FB and IG to show off how AI sees them.

I think we’re all a little excited to see that AI thinks of us. It feels personal because it’s based on your actual chat history.

And it acts as a digital mirror that reflects back to us what we think / know about ourselves.

Anyways… I want to talk about trends in general. Because behind every trend  there’s a hidden opportunity.

Bucking a trend is actually a great way to generate exposure for yourself or business. This is how I recommend you do it:

➤ Talk about the reason behind your action - Don't just post the trend and move on. In this instance use it as an opportunity to talk about what it got right or wrong regarding your professional persona. It’s a brilliant way to talk about your brand identity and showcasing the human behind the company. For example, apparently chat GPT thinks I’m really into paper airplanes.

➤ Use it as a tech case study For the tech founders out there, this is a perfect opening to discuss prompt engineering or biased data. Does your caricature look like a generic CEO? Use that to start a conversation on how to build better AI models.

➤ Pivot to your product If you’re building in the SaaS space, use the image to talk about user perception. You could ask your followers if the AI's version of you matches the vibe of the software you're building.

➤ Keep it brief and bright. People are on LinkedIn for a break as much as for business. Keep the tone lighthearted. If Chat GPT gave you three arms or a tail, lean into the joke to show you don't take yourself too seriously.

Takeaway: Trends will come and go, but using them correctly can help you benefit form the general hype, as long as you relate them back to what you do.
